Past commissions and projects

During the last twenty five years I’ve undertaken site-specific commissions and design projects, so I’ve featured some here to give you an idea of the varied projects I’ve worked on. Projects include large-scale exterior as well as interior site-specific designs, through to bespoke patterns and artwork to evoke heritage and cultural identities. I work with manufacturers and fabricators, as well as buyers, publishers and art commissioners.

“Kate Farley has a unique talent for not only capturing the forms and essence of a subject but also in using it to create visually exciting patterns. We were pleased the opportunity arose to work with her again and create a second pattern for our company. After the success of Kate’s ‘Chelsea’ pattern, which was based on my first solo cutlery design, it seemed only fitting Kate should use ‘Pride’, my father’s first cutlery design and also his most admired. We are thrilled with the result – a celebration of a British design classic.”

“Transport for London selected Kate Farley to produce four posters on a Parks and Gardens theme for posting on London’s Underground network in 2017. Kate was chosen because of her outstanding abilities as a graphic and paper cut-out artist. Her work impresses at every level and her attention to the brief detail, her use of colour and readiness to engage with a client with multiple stakeholders made working with Kate a very rewarding experience. The posters were brilliant and much admired by the public. If the opportunity arose again, I would certainly commission Kate again.”
