KF collections

Alongside industry commissions I have developed and brought to market my own design collections: Plot to Plate, Construct and Threads so far. My collections have been designed with quality materials, combining traditional and digital processes, all manufactured in Britain. Products have been available for trade and retail customers, with Construct and Threads operating as bespoke ordering.

Drawing and printmaking is at the heart of my creative practice and these collections demonstrate my approaches. I often develop works on paper (prints and drawings) that I exhibit and sell alongside the textile-related products.

Plot to Plate, launched in 2012 with a range of products celebrating home-grown food and gardens. Plot to Plate features patterns developed from original drawings and limited edition lino prints of allotments and National Trust formal gardens. With a nod to mid-century design but with contemporary focus, this is a soft geometric collection with calming colour statements.

Products in the collection include giftware and home interior products such as greetings cards, tea towels, wallpaper and cushions. The title design is a play on the traditional dog tooth check, with garden tools, cooling utensils and cutlery featuring in the design. I showcased the collection at trade shows including Tent at London Design Festival, Top Drawer and Pulse, and the collection was featured in a number of magazines including Elle Decoration, House Beautiful and Homes and Antiques.

The Construct collection is inspired by constructed fabric such as weave and lace, offering an antidote to printed wood and stone effect digitally printed patterns. Working with industry partners Formica Group and The Window Film Company, these made to order collections are ideal for interior designers and architects allowing for bespoke specifications to suit client needs. There are also screen-printed cushions for retail customers featuring the construct prints. This collection was launched at Tent / London Design Fair in 2015, was featured in Trend Bible Home and Interiors Autumn / Winter 2017/18 publication, and won a House Beautiful Award with the Window Film Company.

The Threads collection has been an extension of the Construct collection, continuing to explore woven structures as a printed language. These designs have been made available with the bespoke service at Formica and The Window Film Company. Limited edition prints and works on paper have also been developed as part of the pattern language development. This collection was launched at London Design Fair in 2016
